Cafe Loki

If you're looking for a place to sample traditional Icelandic cuisine in a tasty and affordable way, look no further. Cafe Loki is a warm and hospitable restaurant that serves authentic Icelandic food, located across the street from famous Hallgrímskirkja in central Reykjavik. The environment is cosy and modern, and the food is rumoured to be the best and most authentic traditional culinary experience in Reykjavik. The staff is friendly and welcoming and they put great effort into explaining the food and the menu.

Café Loki prides itself on serving traditional Icelandic food, the kind that every Icelander knows and loves. The next best thing to getting a home cooked Icelandic meal, Café Loki offers traditional Icelandic meat soup, 'plokkfiskur' (a fish stew with onions and potatoes), homemade dark rye bread and rye pancakes with smoked lamb, just to name a few options.
