Einbúi, or 'The Hermit', is a solitary and voluminous rock which is found amongst flat surroundings in the east of Iceland. The natural phenomenon of Einbúi is truly unique to its environment and can be found at the end of Jafnadalur valley. The area also contains a six-metre stone arch and a hiking trail that connects Jafnadalur to Fáskrúðsfjörður fjord. A visit to Einbúi is suitable for both short and extensive hikes
Einbúi is very near Breiðdalsvík and not too far from Egilsstaðir in Fljótsdalshérað, where you will find plenty of accommodation and at Egilsstaðir you can explore the Lagarfljót and other natural phenomena.
For other activities, the whole east of Iceland is amazing for hiking and other outdoor activities, such as fishing, horseback riding and skiing.
