Obviously you can't come here and not have a white russian!
The 1998 comedy film The Big Lebowski by the Coen brothers is not only a film, it's a lifestyle. With the emergence of the Lebowski Bar in Reykjavik, everyone can now be a part of The Dude's peculiar world. The Lebowski bar is everything you want it to be, a bowling themed burger joint, restaurant and bar. It seems like a completely different world; you won't believe you're still on Laugavegur shopping street.
Lebowski Bar was designed by American architects in the spirit of The Big Lebowski, and the place is divided into four different areas. When you enter, the first thing you see is a bowling area where bowlers can enjoy themselves (even though there is no bowling alley). Then you'll get to the American porch, where you can sit down and have a drink. Next you move on to the diner/dancefloor, where you can order food from a simple diner menu and also dance the night away after hours. Upstairs is the Treehorn lounge with a sitting room and an outdoor area.
Of course, the house drink is White Russian, and there's even a special White Russian menu, featuring all sorts of variations. Don't panic if you haven't seen the film; It's not necessary to have seen the movie in order to enjoy the bar.
You should not let this beautifully designed place pass you by. However, if you do... Sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eats you.
